5Great deal for the money (or a lot more!).  Apr 20, 2011 By moeski
Incredible bargain. Yeah, it's made in China, but even so it's still a great deal. I liked it so much I bought a second one (along with another head). Good, full, rich sound, especially coupled to the Jet City (Soldano) amp heads I purchased. I would recommend anyone serious about their guitar, get one or two of these, along with matching 20W amp heads.

5..so far, very pleased!  Mar 05, 2012 By JColez "fistfull"
I bought this to take the place of my internal speaker on my SuperChamp XD Fender combo. So, when I got it I disconnected my SuperChamp speaker, and plugged this right into the back... it sounds great. Now, I will say my SuperChamp comes with a stock 8 ohm 10 incher (which I might add has really broken in very nicely), it just misses a bit of that low end growl you need from a 12' in a nice cabinet And, this is it!. The Jet City cabinet is fairly large considering only one 12 inch speaker is in there; you basically have 6 inches of cab (outside of the speaker all the way around. This is a approx a 2 ft x 2ft cab. (15 inches deep). It's also bigger than most 12 inch cabs you see around the local guitar shops. Anyway, its nice looking and seemingly well constructed. You might want to know that it's a 16 ohm cab, so you'll want to be sure that it works with your system (if you're not sure, you should research this so you don't mess up your amp/head). I'm sure once this speaker breaks in, it will growl even better. Oh, by the way, my Fender clean channel sounds brillant on the Jet City - sparkling! The only downer is that there is no ohm switch (down to 8). Also, there is no "out" to run multiple cabs in a series. So, your amp, or head will need to have an extra output. Not a biggie for $149 w/free shipping. This speaker doesn't look, feel or act cheap... and costs $50 less than the new 12 inch SuperChamp cab. (which I might add is significantly smaller in size). I look forward to pushing this cabinet. This cabinet certainly has a lot of value for your dollar, and it makes me want to check out the 20 watt head which comes with it (there are two to choose from).

**Update - it's important match your impedance on your amp/and all speakers! After further comparison is the my stock Fender combo speaker, and this, I felt like something was wrong/missing with my tone while using this cab (it sounded good, but...?) Anyway, so, I did some research. I knkow you cannot go down in speaker ohms from your head (too much load going through lower rated hardware). My Fender amp head is 8 ohm and this speaker is 16 ohm. Unfortunately it takes 16 ohm load to push the stock 16 ohm Eminence to it's pure capabilities (using my 8 ohm head is kinda like running a sprint with your mouth closed and only trying to breath through your nose - not efficient). Anyway, I had to remove the stock Eminence (carefully, and to my joy, this a well constructed cab with a really nice Eminence Speaker inside). I bought an 8 ohm Celestion H30, and put it inside this cab - now all my impedance matches and it sounds great. I also left the back of the cab unscrewed (like a baffle) - now I can open/shut for different tone. This is a great cabinet, and in the near future, I plan to look at Jet City Heads. I'm definitely going to hang on to the 16 ohm Eminence I pulled out of here! I also might add that it took some prying into the back of the cab to remove the back... I damaged the tolex a little, but not a worry (this cab is only $150!!).
