4$1,000 is a good price  Nov 30, 2008 By Zelie Nic
This is a quality amplifier if you're into country, surf, rock&roll, funk, ska, jazz... just about anything really! Being a combo makes this amp easier to travel, size-wise at least. And if you're into metal, as one reviewer here is, then this amp will not be enough without utilising some pedals.

What you get with the Twin Reverb is the definitive reverb of a high-end Fender, plus the tremelo. This reverb+tremelo on an amp was de rigeur in the early/mid sixties. That, coupled with the Blackface cosmetics makes this amp a real blast-from-the-past. You'll also get Fender's two seperate channels which can be patched for a fuller sound. Each channel has a bright switch. The amp is also loud enough on it's own to stand out, way out, above a drummer or whatever your guitar is having to compete with.

The downsides to the Twin Reverb include it's weight (more than sixty pounds) which is awkward when you're trying to carry it from it's single handle at the top of the amp. It would be easier if there were two side handles... but then you'd lose the tilt-back legs. I bought a flight case, and that solved the problem of not having side handes. Plus, I've got casters now too!

The only other downside to the Twin Reverb is that the reverb doesn't really do a whole lot at low volumes. If you can get one here for a thousand you ought to!

5do your research  Dec 07, 2009 By B. Stephens
harmony central is a great place to see reviews from a lot of people, to get a better view of this amp....usually by professional musicians that know what they're talking about. but I hope you have a lot of spare time to read em all. I love this amp...is it for every sound? DUH, no...good luck with that. but for knopfler tone and gorgeous clean organic reverb, especially with a good strat...mmmm good stuff.

5For those craving classic sound!  Apr 12, 2010 By Izabela Hudziak "Live the Life"
If you're a fan of classic rock, jazz, blues, funk, ska, surf, country, rockabilly - this is the ultimate amp as its clean tones are simply put - unmatched (except Bogner Ecstasy but these go for thousands of dollars).
Powerful and Beautiful, it will show you exactly how good your guitar really is(if it's bad, you'll hear it clearly).
No distortion overdrive though so metal heads stay away unless you're prepared to fork out for additional pedals/effectors.
It is expensive but worth the price of admission, considering it will be playing with you for years and years to come.

5One fantastic amp!  Dec 26, 2010 By Jonathan Nelson
The clean sound you find in this 65 reissue fender `Twin Reverb is astounding. Built to specs of the original 65 and has a true vintage feel and sound. The vibrato and reverb certainly compliment the added features as well. As others have stated, if you are into metal however, this amp does not have a distortion overdrive. I still have my 80's metal style I like to play on occasion and I use a Digitech Metal pedal and it sounds great through this super clean amp. You can't beat the tube sound with that warm tone when you want it. This amp will crank too and is certainly one that you could own for the rest of your life if you need the power of a 2 12 combo amp. Overall, it has been a very nice amp to own and a joy to play through.

5My first real amp!!!  Mar 31, 2012 By Corey K.
This turned out to be a wonderful investment because I never knew playing guitar could be so much fun until I got this cool amp. It really looks cool leaning my Strat up against it so I never put the guitar back in it's case anymore. What can I say, it just really brings out all the sonic possibilities in a Fender guitar, has tons of headroom, and makes your playing sound and feel more legit. It's a little pricey when bought new, but I don't regret it one bit and will probably keep it for life.
