4Jim MacDonald  Nov 06, 2011 By James Mac Donald
I was in a hurry and I didn't want to spend a lot of money... I also didn't have a lot of space left on my pedal board. Given these constraints this was a fine volume pedal. I had a long weekend gig and it performed fine for the four days. I did find that it's possible to push the volume past 0. When you do that it goes around full volume. Fortunately I found this behavior during sound check. Once I knew that could happen it wasn't a problem, just don't STAND on it. A simple rock back to zero works fine. Will I keep it forever? good question. I probably will.

cheers.

5Absolutely sweet!  Jul 16, 2011 By Jim Francis "Jim Francis"
Got this to work with an Eventide TimeFactor - this brand pedal was recommended in their manual - it controls any parameter like delay feedback in realtime. Very nice indeed! Quality is like built like a tank - wonderful.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

5very solid - perfect for Eventide boxes  Jan 11, 2012 By ClassicLotus
This is probably the best built expression/volume pedal on the market. Most are not very strong and will not hold up if you play out very much. This pedal is cast aluminum with good bearing surfaces and countersunk machine screws.

If you use any of the Eventide stomp boxes, this is the pedal to use. It is recommended by Eventide and meets the 25k ohm requirement. Operation is very smooth and the stompbox reacts immediately - there is no lag.

Hookup to the stompbox requires just one mono patch cable from the "Out" jack on the 6181 to the "Expression In" jack on the Eventide. You don't connect to any other jack on the 6181 - super simple.

I use it with a Pitchfactor and can't see using the effect without an expression pedal.
This pedal is a little more expensive than most of the others but not by that much and it is well worth the price. There is no point in trying to save $20 when the difference in quality is worth more than that.

5Best Volume Pedal Available  Dec 17, 2009 By J. Joyce
I personally love the 'swelling' method of guitar playing.. I have owned one other guitar pedal before this one, and there is truthfully no comparison. I love the Ernie Ball Jr..! I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants the smoothest transition from no sound to full sound.

Plus, it's most helpful feature is the 'Tuner' output. If you run a 1/4 inch power from the Tuner output to the input of a tuner (I use a Boss TU-2), you can leave your tuner on at all times and still have sound. Normally, a tuner will cut off the sound signal. This is very helpful when playing on a stage!

4Ernie Ball Act. Vol. Pedal  Dec 04, 2010 By lazvt84
Heavy duty, wide sweep...works well doubled as an expression pedal...only questionable thing is the electronics...wiring and such is exposed underneath the hinge. Overall? good product and worth the cash.
