Description

In the late 1970's, a tiny effects maker in Japan produced a small quantity of what many believe is THE definitive distortion box. Delicious tonality. Highly versatile. 5Incredible distortion, no radio signals for me!  Nov 23, 2005 By P. Schuurmans
This is my second Dano pedal, and I am VERY satisfied with my purchase. It has three knobs, Level, Tone, and Distortion.

I noticed if I turned the Dist all the way up, and the Level a little past half way, and the Tone all the way up, I got a Ramones and Green Day type sound, but when I turned the tone down, I got a very nice Smashing Pumpkins sound. So this pedal can do nice punk rock sounds, and hard rock sounds with the turn of a knob.

I saw the post about this pedal picking up radio signals, but I picked up absolutely NO signals. All the radio signal stuff is just interference. Notice how on many electronics they say on them, this device must except any interference? Radio is interference. I think it just depends on what room your in, in your house. I've had electronics that work perfectly in all my rooms, except when they got close to the bathroom, and then I picked up a radio station.

My only complaint is the pedals instruction manual says a 9 volt battery is included, but their wasn't one in the box. My other Dano pedal I bought came with one, but not this one. So make sure you have a 9 volt battery because this might not come with one.

So I give this 5 stars. I didn't really mind that whole battery thing. And the pedal is perfect. And it's affordable! I highly recommend this.

5One of the best distortion pedals  Mar 03, 2006 By Chris D. Junker
Over the years I've tried many distortion pedals and I could not be happier with this one! It is responsive but not overbearing. Don't be fooled by its price or size. I used it through my Fender HotRod Deluxe and this pedal offers a warm full tone and it really can rip. I highly recomend this pedal for those who don't want to throw down $150 for a Tube-Screamer.

5Great range of tones and feel  Jan 05, 2008 By J. Hartford "333kenshin"
I have been impressed with the range of tones I can get from this little box. Much more clean and versitile than the overdrive function built into my frontman amp. I hasn't picked up any stray signals on me.

Cons: 9V battery dies quickly (if you forget and leave the thing on overnight...)

5Great deal.  Sep 30, 2007 By K. Wilson
I bought this pedal because I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a distortion effect. This pedal does the trick without breaking the bank.

I use mine with a 9-volt battery (the pedal doesn't come with a wall plug adapter) and the only trouble I've had is remembering to unplug the cables to keep from draining the battery.

When the time comes to purchase a different effects pedal, I will buy more from this line.

5Better than my amp's overdrive.  Oct 17, 2009 By J.L. Populist
I bought this effects pedal new at a reduced price.

The Danelectro D1 Fab distortion pedal is much better than my M15 amp's overdrive function!
This pedal provides long sustain and the three knobs-Level, Tone, and Distortion work well in shaping the sound. I really like the "dirty" distortion that I get.

Don't let the plastic construction fool you. Does anyone actually stomp on these pedals? I find the pedal to be durable and the button works easy enough.

Regarding another reviewer's observation about battery inclusion, I didn't receive a battery in the carton either.

I have no regrets about purchasing this Danelectro pedal and would recommend it.
