4Very Nice  Jun 13, 2009 By C. Kaneshiro
Very nice amp. Don't let the 15 watts deceive you. This baby can pump with the bigger boys due in part to it's 12" driver. The tone is very warm and clean whether I'm using an electric guitar or classical. ( I don't use the overdrive side as I have my own effects rack ) Amp seems to be more heavier on the bass side. You can really feel it especially in a smaller room. The 3 band eq helps to even things out a bit but if you're looking for "tingling highs", you should look elsewhere. All in all, this is a good practice amp that you can even take with you to smaller gigs.

5Great Sound!  Oct 16, 2010 By book man
I bought this to use for practice and wanted the best sound and effects in a small cabinet. This is it! Great sound and effects. More power than I expected. Very pleased!

5Best Practice Guitar Amp For The Price  Feb 07, 2010 By C. A. Q. Ruiz
Good, big, rich and clean sound you will get from this guitar amp. The distortion is good as well, it has a switch button for clean/distortion effect, lots of equalizers buttons and reverb effect. The 15 watt single 12 speaker would shake your house and you can use this guitar amp in small gigs.

4Not a bad little package  Apr 19, 2011 By KnarlyB
I bought my previous amp (50 watt tube w/ 12" speaker) with the intention of carrying that in one hand and my guitar in the other to wherever I was going. I must have been insane. Of course it's my prime machine but needed something easier on my back for casual jamming, practicing, etc. It's always been my opinion that a bigger box gives you a bigger sound, all other thing being equal. I wanted to stick with a 12" speaker (and its bigger box). I considered tubes but conceded to myself that solid state would be lighter and I play "clean" 90% of the time anyway. I also wanted reverb, spring, if possible. I compared about a half a dozen amps, listing their attributes. I soon found that I was comparing apples and oranges at times and none seemed to entirely fill the bill. After some head scratching, I decided on the Crate. I have no regrets. The 12" speaker and "big box" were a pleasant surprise. 15 watts seemed underpowered but trusted previous reviews. I found out at a recent basement jam session that it held its own, the volume turned up only slightly past half (we're not talking "cranked", of course. Not metal. heads). I have to say that the reverb, though a spring, doesn't have the "quality" of my bigger amp (must be a shorter spring, having a quick "sprongy" sound to it. I may have rated this amp five stars otherwise.) But when the band is in full swing, it's not noticed as long it's not turned up too far. I don't use the "overdrive" channel so I can't review it. I use a Tube Screamer for my "dirt" All in all, not bad for about $100. Both weighing about 23 lbs. I can now carry my guitar and amp with comfortable balance.

5Nice amp for the money spent  Apr 03, 2009 By loadedlemons
Purchased this for my Gibson J-45 acoustic-electric. I've used it at a guitar party a few times, people asked if it was an acoustic amp, they said it sounded very good. Mostly used for practice. For $99.99 and free shipping, can't go wrong.
