For the price? Pfft. Aug 29, 2008
By Ian M. Mcclintock Look at this pedal. Look at what it does, and what it costs. $30 for a tuner in a pedal form factor, and that's if you don't even try to hunt down a lower price. By contrast, Boss's TU-2 is essentially the same thing in a more durable housing, and it costs $100 retail.
Yes, the housing is made of plastic. I don't know about you, but I generally won't be leaping with both feet onto my tuner in the middle of a set. If you treat your gear with any respect whatsoever, it should survive. And if it doesn't, so what? It's cheap to replace.
The other person on here obviously got a faulty model, which happens. Mine's developed a touchy input jack over time (it's actually the earlier TU-100 model), but I don't know that it's totally unexpected on a pedal this cheap. One star off for these kinds of quality control problems, just to be fair. I own three other Behringer pedals as well, and they're still going strong.
A tuner is an essential part of any musician's rig, and this does the job just fine. Use the money you save towards buying a really nice stompbox that will actually affect your sound while playing.
UPDATE: After having used a new tuning pedal for some time, I will admit that, yes, this is a subpar tuner. However, I still stand by my original opinion that for the amount of money you pay, this isn't a bad investment. For a guitarist just starting out, this would still make a good first tuner when you really want to spend your money on pedals that will affect your sound.

Behringer tu300 tuner May 26, 2010
By Rene L. Davignon

This tuner is GREAT ... I read a review that this tuner was not as quick as a Boss tuner, not True ... It does take about 6 seconds to "warm-up" from when you first plug in your guitar chord ... but after that ... it works great. I had a Boss tuner that died on me, and I could not see paying $100.00+ for another one at this time ... I'm glad I brought the Behringer TU300 ... Get one! you'll love it!!!!!!

Great Tuner - Great Price Apr 09, 2010

After I got past the plastic housing and difficult to access battery compartment (I have since bought a 1 Spot...awsome!) the pedal works great. Some reviews talk about slow response...I play bass and have experienced that on the Low B and E. It seems to work and respond better after it "warms up". Does not make sense to me, but after the first couple songs the unit seems to respond quicker. For 30 bucks you can't beat it...but I can see where battery use and gigging heavy would cause some issues.

Decent For A Cheap Tuner Jan 11, 2010
By Steven Bagley I've had Boss, Korg, and Artec pedal tuners before this one. I've had my entire pedalboard stolen 4 times now. I just got tired of buying $100 tuners that weren't even true bypass. I've had 4 of these units. They get the job done. They don't register very fast but once you use it for a bit, you get a feel for how to get the best from it. If you need a tuner now and are strapped for cash, this is a working alternative to the TU-2. Just don't be disappointed when its not quite up to the quality of a Boss, Digitech, Korg. If you can afford it, by all means get something that will last longer. My first TU300 lasted me just a few months before it crapped out, but for the price, I can't complain much. This is not a good touring solution. Its plastic for crying out loud. The build quality is pretty flimsy.

Good tuner for the money Feb 15, 2010
By Meyatch I'm a bass player by trade and I already have a tuner I use on stage, I bought this for a little guitar rig I was assembling to play at home, or for friends to play. It tunes pretty accurately, and the LEDs are nice and bright, especially the blue "in tune" light. I don't think anyone would have any problems seeing that, even if you were playing outside.
If you are the kind of guy that throws your pedal down stairs, spring for the Boss tuner. This is plastic, and I wouldn't expect it to stand up to tons of abuse. That said, I have another Behringer pedal of the same construction that I use on stage, and it has been fine. I keep my pedals in an enclosed pedal case, and that's the only way I transport them.
If it broke really soon, I'd probably just get a higher quality pedal, but if it lasts a year or two, I'd probably get a new one. For what I'm using it for it does a great job, and it didn't cost me $100.
